This past month or so has presented challenges that are unprecedented in our lifetime. Our hearts go out to our clients, families, small businesses, and everyone affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
While these are difficult, challenging and uncertain times, business will continue on as normal with some exciting changes that really should have been put in place years ago.
Beginning with providing virtual design services to ALL our clients.
It’s not talked about often, but we have been providing virtual design services to clients all around the world, from a 8-unit complex in Bowen, Australia to a small single-family residence in Winnipeg. The process is simple.
How it works:
Contact us: Say hi through our contact page and give us a brief explanation of your project (new home design, renovation or addition). We’ll then set up a Zoom call to virtually meet, discuss the project in more detail and answer any questions you might have.
Send all your project’s documents (survey, reports, bylaws, existing plans, etc.)
The Design Service Agreement will be sent to you within a couple of days. An e-signature is required and deposit paid to begin.
Let the designing begin! And by that, I mean preliminary floor plans with endless rounds of revisions. Next up are the preliminary exterior elevations, again with endless rounds of revisions.
Sign for approval and sit back and relax while we finish up the construction drawings.
Hire a local Structural Engineer (3rd party) to provide a structural plan and send them to us to complete our plans.
Lastly, make the final payment and receive your plans (PDF) to submit for permits!
Yes, it’s as easy as 7 steps.
And the communication? Well that’s easy too. We know hand signals, those non-construction words like pointy roof, and oodles and oodles of sketches ranging from computerized to hand drawn. We’ve even had a lego model of a house (can I say bonus points for most creative!!). However you’d like to get us the information, we can decipher it.
